Skyder Alert Wins International Film Festival for Peace, Inspiration and Equality Award

Award-winning director, George Barnes is proud to  announce his win at this year's IFFPIE (International Film Festival for Peace, Inspiration and Equality.) The new documentary, "Look Up", has established a new genre of activism documentaries. In addition to captivating and troubling content, it has integrated a unique mobile app and harnessed the power of social media to provide a new platform for activism.

"Look Up" deals with the controversial topic of GeoEngineering and SRM Solar Radiation Management – the process of using jet airplanes to spray the sky with toxic aluminum and other poisonous particles to block out the sun in an attempt to create (yes create) climate change.

Once dismissed by the mainstream media as conspiracy theory, belief that the US government is actively engaged in potentially dangerous weather-modification programs utilizing jet planes to manufacture artificial clouds is on the rise. The explosion in interest is fueled by a dramatic increase in the past two year's of sightings of the unnatural looking clouds throughout the United States and of unmarked planes that appear to be producing them.

The SkyderALERT mobile App and social network were launched this May under a 501c4 by filmmaker George Barnes, who knew nothing of this issue until last summer, when he accidentally captured evidence of weather modification in progress. While processing time-lapse footage he had taken of the sky near Manhattan, he happened to play the footage backward and saw that the entire cloud covered sky was artificially created by jets flying in a grid pattern.

“These were not jet contrails,” said Barnes. “The vapors in the sky persisted for the whole day, ultimately causing a completely overcast sky… Then in the coming days I began to notice it on an almost daily basis.”

In conjunction with a documentary titled “Look Up, “ Barnes created the mobile app "SkyderALERT" to allow users to document phony clouds with their smart phones while instantly sending the visual evidence with an electronic petition to their elected officials. Within two weeks of its launch, SkyderALERT quickly rocketed to the top three social networking apps on ITunes, resulting in thousands of users across the United States posting and sharing images while also petitioning lawmakers. Google now yields about 60,000 hits on SkyderALERT. Barnes says he’s been overwhelmed with letters of support and new users each day.
