Radio Journalist Responds To The Washington Post’s Climate Engineering Article

Share

The climate engineering elephant in the room is becoming bigger and harder to hide by the day. The Washington Post has now put out a second article on climate engineering in the span of a week. The difference of approach between the two articles "How A Group Of Conspiracy Theorists Could Derail The Debate Over Climate Policy" and "What Is The Right Temperature For Earth" is striking. In the article below radio journalist David Tulis puts a light on The Washington Post's less than objective coverage of the critical climate engineering issue. Still, the fact that The Washington Post is having to address geoengineering twice in a week is a clear sign ground is rapidly being gained in the effort to bring this issue to light.

Sky Striping Critics Said To ‘Derail Debate’ Over Theoretical Sun-Fighting Program

By David Tulis

Critics of stratospheric aerosol geoengineering are taking it on the chin in a Washington Post oped, but are celebrating their being recognized in the establishment press.

A column in the District of Columbia-based Post suggests that writers such as Dane Wigington of GeoengineeringWatch.org “could derail debate” over climate policy with their “emotional” and “passionate” arguments that climate control by “chemtrails” is old news — and bad news. But it also admits that their objections to “deadly air pollution” and damage to the ozone layer by toxic plumes have merit as part of the debate over what is a futurististic weather-control  technology still on the drawing board. (article is continued below photo sequence)

The essay by science journalist Puneet Kollipara should be credited for recognizing that SRM, or solar radiation management, is uniting “left-wingers worried about the environment to right-wingers concerned about abuses of government power.” While the Post tries to slip enough snake oil onto the tarmac to prevent anyone from gaining steady legs, the text’s concessions grant a toe-hold to momentarily see the sky above your head in its true blue.

Important concessions

Researchers such as Mr. Wigington says that climate geoengineering is “already under way” by means of jet aircraft emissions. The Post saddles his perspective with reference to shrill Facebook and Internet hangers-on who insist chemtrailing serves eugenic, human culling and mind-control purposes.  Still, Mr. Wigington and other writers have “a small but passionate following” from people “across the ideological spectrum” who “generally point to seeming irregularities in aircraft contrails as indisputable proof that illicit weather or climate modification is already happening, right now, and being used to control people and nations, especially poor ones.”

Authorities such as Mr. Wigington, an environmentalist who has dedicated a decade of his life to exposing SRM as manifest and inescapable, make “farfetched” and “baseless” claims for the global program’s long being in existence serving governmental and deep state interests.

But they can’t be dismissed because

insights they may offer about a future debate over geoengineering. It might be many years, after all, before any geoengineering proposal seriously enters the policy realm. Still, writes science and technology policy researcher Rose Cairns of the University of Sussex in The Geographical Journal, “Ignoring or dismissing these discourses out of hand as pathological or paranoid is to ignore potentially revealing insights about the emerging politics of geoengineering.”

The Posts suggests Mr. Wigington and others be studied sociologically, as phenomena in the field of mass psychology because how they make the argument AGAINST solar radiation management and chemtrailing presages. Their opposition has little value now, but suggests how FUTURE opposition will frame its objections in the future when chemtrailing is finally proposed as a possible future program.

“Solar geoengineering — more formally known as solar radiation management (SRM) — is merely an idea right now,” the Post declares, “and many scholars aren’t convinced that it’d actually be worth it. But with the National Research Council set to weigh in on various forms of geoengineering very soon, it — and the conspiracy theories involving it — stands to gain more of the public spotlight.”

Sticking point: Is program actual, or theoretical?

The Post’s concern is that the argument against SRM and weather control “could poison legitimate debate over geoengineering’s merits.” The opposition’s argument against health effects, damage to ecology, damage to hydrological cycles and profiteering by big ag and big business are bad enough by way of opposition. But the poison critics are serving up is their assault on the modern state and its overbearing ways and absolutist impulse, its years of secrecy and experimentation upon the citizenry.

How does Uncle ready the public for massive weather intervention in the weather when it has been doing so for years already? How can it make a show of drawing back a curtain — not for a new presentation, but for a show the audience has already seen and disbelieved? How to go public with a black budget program whose results are visible almost daily over Chattanooga and now declare it dangerous to human health — but a planetary necessity?

If Uncle Sam intends to be honest to say public health might be jeopardized by spraying nanoparticulate aluminum and sulphur by the megatonnage required to turn the sky into a milky white plasma, how does it explain past years of murky skies, diverted storms, aluminum in test samples and accelerated UV rays from a jet-damaged ozone layer?

The U.S. government and its gaggle of nation-state partners around the globe are in a fix, raising now a clamor for stratospheric aerosol geoengineering while having to explain past actions of which today and for 20 years Mr. Wigington has complained. Possibly the existing program has been paid for with the F$8.5 trillion the Pentagon has mislaid since 1996.

The Post essay is like looking at pencil scratching through an opaque glass. Its conception is impermanent and shifting. Still, Mr. Kollipara gives voice to the arguments of Mr. Wigington and geoengineering opponents of the proposed artificial skymaking program. No satisfactory answer exists for the objection to sky striping even though you may be wrong about the timing of its first happy day.

Left ignored, the chemtrails narrative could poison legitimate debate over geoengineering’s merits. Right now the public is still learning what geoengineering is, and people’s opinions about it have yet to fully form, making them vulnerable to misinformation. But how, exactly, geoengineering researchers should address the chemtrails narrative without outright ignoring it isn’t clear. In short, chemtrails itself is a conspiracy theory. But the environmental and political concerns underlying the theory can’t be ignored, as they certainly would arise in any mainstream debate over whether to proceed with geoengineering. And chemtrails believers themselves could become a thorn in geoengineering researchers’ and proponents’ sides for many years to come.

Just as those Christians who say the prophecies of the book of Revelation have already been fulfilled in history are called preterists or partial preterists, the brightest opponents of sky striping are preterists as well. They are not prophesying about cloud management and jet plumes as a prospective danger, as future events. The great woe isn’t ahead; the colossal events of judgment and redemption aren’t 10 years out or tomorrow. They have already occurred, are in the past.

  1. L Sando says:

There is documentary video showing the same planes going back and forth from horizon to horizon leaving trails in the air, and also several images of rocket-like objects going straight up into the sky spewing a vapor trail.  People photographed an object like this over the city where I live. So where are these supposedly commercial flights heading — back and forth across the sky?  And does United offer flights to the moon?  I am a chronic headache sufferer who happens to know a half a dozen other chronic headache sufferers in my area — It's time we find out what the heck is really going on.  We deserve our health.

  2. L Sando says:

I studied art.  Isn't it odd that if we are to take these stripes as normal clouds, that painters since the middle ages never once attempted to portray a crisscrossed sky?  You would think that artists in the days of old would have found this an interesting subject. But I find no trace of this phenomenon in art history.

  3. Mary Jennings says:

    In line with Barbara,

The sad truth is that the psychopaths running this world will fight tooth and nail to further line their pockets with  blood money.  There truly is no politician that is in power, with the purpose of doing what is best for the people.  My message along with putting a stop to geo- engineering, is this: even though it could already be too late, if Humankind does not allow the planet to balance itself out, there WILL BE A BACKLASH Humans may not survive.  Geo- engineering is but one small percent of the pillaging of this planet.  Our only hope is that we enlighten as many people as we can to the mass poisoning of the earth, air, water, and life.  The way of life as we live it is unsustainable.

The last thing is this: Giving the FCC any say in our right to free enterprise ie; internet providers, will be just one more huge nail for the coffin (what is left of our civil rights and personal freedom)

, for the Corrupt AND bought Federal Agencies to nail the Citizens of this country in.   If the FCC gains control, we might as well just install the cell phone and internet kill switch in the Oval office.  This country, now known to all Americans, and the world, as the "HOMELAND" (Bush and Obama), is racing down the same path as the "FATHERLAND" (A. HITLER") , and the "MOTHERLAND" (J. Stalin).

May our planet begin to heal herself.  May all Humanity support the small blue planet we ALL call home.

  4. I have had the same problem as Ana. says:

I am wondering, now that Monsanto has engineered its seeds to withstand chemicals how are they going to engineer seeds that will grow without sunlight and the pollination of bees? As genically modified seeds and the modification of the climate are in this together just how far are they willing to go to eradicate all life on this planet for the pursuit of dominance, power and money.

  5. Craig T says:

Looking at the photos of such intense airplane-generated trails and cloud cover, the EITHER/OR fallacy of the government’s stated position becomes very clear:

    EITHER

    1) The trails in the photos are evidence that geoengineering programs are already in full swing – so the official position that geoengineering is only a proposal is a lie.

    OR

    2) If we believe the official view that these photos show only water vapor contrails from normal jet aircraft operation, then geoenginnering is UNNECESSARY. Jet exhaust is all that is needed for effective SRM. Right? Look again at the photos and the high amount of sunlight blockage from these “normal contrails”.

You can’t have it both ways.

  6. JPV says:

If there is a way to REVOKE the Patent on SRM I suggest to revoke all Patents associated with atmospheric spraying. There is really one way to change our atmosphere and that is by REMOVING all chemical particles by filtering the air on a massive basis. Removing not Adding. Nature will add oxygen which is lacking, with plant growth.

    i live on a tropic island in Thailand;
after 26 years in LA (and seeing chemtrails constantly)
i finally thought (hoped) i had left them behind-
but last year, after a Bkk Post article about US “weather monitoring flights” out of U-Tapao airport (supposedly refused by Thai govt officials),
we started to see them here, above our beloved island.
Although not nearly as bad as most other locations (i was just in Bangkok 2 weeks ago & the chemtrailing was horrid), it is still quite jarring to see the practice come to here. STOP CHEMTRAILS NOW!!!

  9. Cheryl Heaney says:

Finally!! The Post. It’s a start! We are bombarded almost daily here in Metro Detroit. Maybe two days a week we aren’t. But that’s not every week. Sometimes it’s daily. My trees and plants (in season) have burn holes in them and black burnt fungus type circles all over the leaves. White mold on the trees and some are dying. I have smelled clorhine in the air. I cannot be outside or leave my windows open without getting a headache and getting a metallic taste on my lips. We had a week of near normal temperatures but now it’s back to arctic below normal temperatures and engineered snow storms. The entire year of 2014 was below average for us. While the west was frying & drying we had cold temps & deluges. I’m glad that this criminal assault is finally being somewhat recognized by the MSM. I want my children & grandchildren & everyone else’s to have a planet so let’s all keep it up! We are obviously making a difference!
Thanks Dane for your unending efforts & waking me up. I first heard you on YouTube in a radio interview about two years ago & have been educating myself & spreading the word ever since.

Very good response!very good photos with very good “facts” given!
Look at the double-talk all these people(the “wise” ones”,not “nuts”) have:
““Solar geoengineering — more formally known as solar radiation management (SRM) — is merely an idea right now,” the Post declares, “and many scholars aren’t convinced that it’d actually be worth it.”-Can we cal this a wish of a true public debate or serious discussion about geoengeneering issue? Seems like they are just groping ground or probing the public opinion…?
And since when official geoengineers took in account any activist´s published (or not published)opinion or any activists protests when they took/take any decision about geoengeneering programs in our planet?
Afther Reading this article there´s other thing i can´t understand :why they do SRM /SAG when there´s snow ?The reflectivity of the sun in the snow wouldn´t be bigger without the fake clouds in the sky or with the fake geoengeneering clouds in the sky? they have studied this already in their “computer models” on their “projects” …or they`re still just experimenting this in real life first ?
scientists asking for a solution based on a lie that these geoengeneering programs don´t exist yet and that we should give it a try in order to “save” the planet from global warming? -How can anyone informed can take this talk seriously? These people supposedly serious concerned scientists and citizens have based their geoengeneering “convictions” ,”ideas” and debates in lies and manipulation and are we going to believe that they really want to make it an issue publicly discussed ? i don´t think so ! They will continue to do what they´ve been doing til now :LYING and keeping people DESINFORMED or IGNORANT! In my opinion everything is going to stay as it is now ! They are too much afraid of taking the responsability for these programs and its consequences! As more as they talk about these geoengeneering programs (even if they just talk about this as a project and not as a reality) more people start to get more knowledge and more people start to compare it and seeing it happening already in real life !In my opinion they will keep this in secrecy as long as they can and all they will continue to give to public will be the same “conspiracy theory” talk …

    • Dane Wigington says:

Hello Ana, you need to remember that is the spraying of artificial ice nucleating agents that are causing the snow in areas where it would otherwise have been rain. The sprayed nucleating agents also create the cold layer on the ground. Search “engineered snow storms” and continue your research.

  12. marco says:

At least there is some dialog, in the media, that more or less admit something is going on. Hopefully the denials are over, as there seems some kind of acceptance that, there is something up there, that is not normal.
Perhaps the corner has been turned and the real picture comes into view for the public.
As the idea this is true gains ground, there will be a demand to know WHY.. It is up to us to make sure the explanation is not more lies!!
Once the consequences are publicly known, change will be demanded, as us, the children and the planet are all being affected by geoengineering.
Perhaps Dane, some result of your work is about to be realized, maybe this year, 2015.
Let us all keep the pressure on by re-posting these articles and keep the dialog going.

  13. If all those clouds were being made by cigarette smokers, they’d all be killed or imprisoned for trying to destroy the health of “innocent” civilians…

Yet airline pilots, military retards, and other undesirables, can sicken the entire planet and get off scot free… Who’s to blame? People who work for corporations? Governments? Bankers? Inquiring minds need to know…

Hi victoria, I'm from Northumberland uk and see them spraying almost on a daily basis also. I've had flu twice since December last year. I found out about this in december also, don't know if they started doing this in December or if my flu is the result of a placebo effect due to finding out lol. Any how topping up my immune system has been my priority lately.

Everyone thinks I'm going mad looking up at the sky and taking pictures, they dont want to know. Today outside its precipitation? Bring back cumulus i say lol.

Thanks to dane for his hard work. Simon

South Carolina is hit nearly every day. This winter my entire household has been stricken with sore throats, chest congestion and other illnesses that seem to be directly related to the heavy spraying.

I doubt that there are any governors of any states here in the US that are NOT FULLY involved and approve. It may be time to begin arresting these so-called officials for treason, and for knowingly causing harm to the environment and we the PEOPLE. If they claim to know nothing about it, then they’re negligent in their duties, or liars. On both counts they should be removed from office. Criminals!!

  16. Michel B says:

What about the WP directly interviewing Dane? Or vice versa of course. Now, that would be interesting. Or would the WP be afraid of the debate?

    • Dane Wigington says:

Hello Michel, actually The Washington Post did interview me in August of 2014, the recent article is the only result from that interview.

  17. Karen W says:

Followers??? The only followers I know are the people that follow all the doctors who give them the vaccines!
And to end the article with a biblical base “theory” is nonsense to the fullest, period!
The more I’m reading about this crime the more I believe that the disaster of August 22, 1986 in the village of Nyos had geoengeering/Harrp fingerprints all over! One survivor is suffering from serious skin disease since 1994. Some say it’s fungus others say it’s eczema. The survivors all spoke of a rumbling noise or explosion. That reminded me of the HARRP video that you had included in the disputable response article here. I also am reading “Owning the weather by 2025” and on page 15 there is a sentence within a paragraph that sickened me. It brought to mind the village of Nyos.
How sad we are allowing this to continue. Can we sue?

  18. victoria Harris says:

Thank you Dane for all your hard work. I am in the uk and they are doing it almost daily here and everyone seems to develop a nasty cough afterwards. You can tell the difference between the normal flights and the ones that spray,at first my friends thought I had gone crazy but now they agree with me having seen it for themselves. Like this article proves, they won’t be able to keep it a secret much longer!!

  19. Jeff says:

I agree that the articles exposing concern over geoengineering, are minutely positive. Every day that I wake up to see the streaks of chemicals across the sky over my home, and realize that it they are in almost every sky on this planet,is almost defeating.I do my best to use the anger, and make sure I spread the awareness to every person that will listen.

  20. Barbara Bell says:

They are not doing it for the good of humanity, they are spraying to make us just sick enough to run to the drug store, they are blocking photosynthesis in crops/plant/trees so Monsanto can finally force their lethal cocktail of poisons onto our grocery shelves….they will privatize our water and take over our lands to plant the GMO foods and trees….that will thrive because Monsanto owns Climate Corp, the company who sprays us daily…..its mind blowing that they are getting away with this…..

  21. bija says:

These two articles, although not ideal, signify a beginning and a crack in the wall of secrecy and deception. The pebbles are rolling and the avalanche is not far behind! This, along with more and more screenings of LOOK UP, some followed by panel discussions, is what this uphill battle has been about. Thanks Dane and everyone who have given so much to this cause!

  22. chris says:

What is absolutely unbelievable, is no matter how many pictures you post. no matter even if they look up and see it happening. Their is many who can not conceive the idea that someone can control the weather, and gas us and microwave us all at the same time.

  23. Earth Angel says:

All I can say to this one is- WOW- A picture really is worth a thousand words, isn’t it??
