The Mental Programming Of Our Children

Share

This is the goal of the establishment, to breakdown the independent thought of our children and turn them into establishment conformists. From the “common core” programs to other curriculums, the “system” is  very effective in “conditioning” our once free thinking and curious children. It’s up to all of us to teach our children to think “out of the box”. It is imperative that we make our children understand the “programming” agenda of the school systems so they can remain on guard against such conditioning. Caring for our young goes far beyond their physical needs, we must help them to stay awake. We must help them to see the world for what it is through a lens that has not been colored with the bias and programing of a very self serving and twisted power structure. We must help their minds to remain truly free.

The Challenges of Defending Your Child’s Mind from Propaganda

Source: Information Clearing House

In great empires the people who live in the capital, and in the provinces remote from the scene of action, feel, many of them, scarce any inconveniency from the war; but enjoy, at their ease, the amusement of reading in the newspapers the exploits of their own fleets and armies. To them this amusement compensates the small difference between the taxes which they pay on account of the war, and those which they had been accustomed to pay in time of peace. They are commonly dissatisfied with the return of peace, which puts an end to their amusement, and to a thousand visionary hopes of conquest and national glory from a longer continuance of the war. – Adam Smith in The Wealth of Nations

October 28, 2014 “ICH” – Let’s face it, your child’s mind is fertile ground for oligarchs, corrupt politicians and any other thieving member of the so-called “ruling elite” who aim to enslave the masses both mentally and monetarily. Unfortunately, the propaganda that comes from the government and our largest corporations is perceived as being absolute truth by most people. If you’re like me, at one point in time you had to wake up to it all and accept that you had been completely brainwashed for the first few decades for your life.

On a parental level, defending my child’s mind against blatant lies and deceit from the media, military industrial complex and corporatism is really not that difficult. But what about their grandparents, cousins or the kids next door?

I truly believe that most Americans suffer from Stockholm Syndrome, a psychological phenomenon where the victim identifies with the attacker to the point they will even defend their captor and even treat certain forms of abuse as a form of compassion.

We see this everywhere; especially around election time, where the voters defend all kinds of atrocities and criminal actions by our elected officials.

The mobs, of course, love the abuse and crimes against humanity. They probably even feel patriotic if the guy committing the crimes is of the same political affiliation they identify with.

When I am home with the kids, observing this type of behavior is easy to discuss – right and wrong is sort of natural for the kids. It’s the adults in their lives who inject a lot of bad philosophy into their lives and unfortunately for most of us reading this blog, the adults have some influence in our children’s lives.

I feel like I have to tread carefully. I mean I am talking about people I love very much: grandparents, neighbors, cousins, uncles…pretty much everyone in our lives. You would think that a non-violent philosophy focused on respecting other people and not forcing your will against others would be universally accepted, but in reality it’s not.

There’s a certain program that pretty much everyone follows. We nearly all accept the lie that every American soldier’s death was to defend our freedoms; that drugs, prostitution and other consensual acts are bad and should be outlawed. That Muslims are violent, that war is good for the economy and America has a free market system. Our society idolizes some of our biggest criminals. In fact, the bigger the crime, the more you are treated as a legend in many circles.

I often get frowns from my friends and family when I openly teach my children about the immoral aspects of government, or how we should be kind to others, even Iranians!

Sometimes the philosophy of respect can make you the oddball, and as a parent the last thing I want to do is make my kids feel weird or be treated like outcasts.

Ultimately, my children will have to make their own choices. I can’t expect them to go against the crowd like I have, but in the meantime I will defend their minds. Not by shutting out the people we love or the millions of Americans who suffer from Stockholm Syndrome. Rather, as a father I will give them real choices: the choice between violence and volunteerism, and the choice between discriminating against other people because of imaginary borders and superficial differences and respecting others.

I had heard some of this…the Kochs, Gates, and others investing in K-12 online education (how conveniently controlled) but this is truly off-the-charts…so extremely devious and deeply disturbing ~ must be thoroughly exposed to parents everywhere!

Lori, your rundown of the tentacles of this beast in your comment, was amazing!!!

…and considering what many parents are already contending with regarding CPS….all choices being taken away…this is deeply chilling indeed.

Very sad, but true…I agree with and am experiencing much the same issues as you are Michael. It is lonely being the one that doesn’t quite fit in unless you constantly keep your mouth shut.I wish I had more power to change these problems. I do as much as I know how, try to put a fissure in peoples idealogies when I get the opportunity and hope that it is enough to get them thinking outside the box, and starting to question. I honestly wish I knew how to do more and effect more awarness and change as it just doesn’t seem to be enough. In any case we must all keep trying and hope that eventually we can turn the tide…

As a parent this is very tricky ground to maneuver, metaphorically filled with landmines. (Children other places actually need to avoid landmines, and the US will not commit to stopping their placement around the world, but that’s another issue.) We’ve all seen how some, like neo-nazis or extreme fundamentalists, indoctrinate their children, and the effect is extremely chilling. That said, one would hope we can encourage generous free thinking and support compassionate understanding and avoid the judgment of others. We need to open a discussion with our children when someone has said something we both heard but may question. For example, if someone has said we must support troops because they’re fighting for our freedom, in private I’d suggest to a child that I might not agree with that because there’s more to it. I’d suggest that invading other nations and killing civilians does not seem to relate in any way to our freedom and that killing people might not be the best way conduct our ourselves in the world. We need to plant seeds of independent thought.

The biggest problem is that collective mindset that really doesn’t question what’s really going on is so very pervasive. Those who question become the extremists, yet we ought not abdicate our role in developing our childrens’ minds. They won’t be taught this at school.

It would be a very good idea to send your 5 year old to a small private kindergarden and order some learning games, In public schools, they only learn the letter and numbers and get a nest of brainwash dumped on them plus spend too much time on a bus.

Well written. The quality of information available through Main Stream Media is woeful and is deliberately so.

I find it hard to have a decent conversation even with educated people. As I develop more critical powers of thinking, learn to investigate instead of just believing and to look past the smoke and mirrors, the less I seem to be able to communicate with many.

This doesn’t mean I do not try. It gains strange views from others that I am ‘a bit different’ or ‘strange’ or ‘Geez, you’re intelligent!’ and only a few really listen. There is not much natural curiosity anymore. There is just an acceptance that what they hear in the news, etc is real.

And people’s ignorance is unwittingly passed on to their children. It is a natural progression of regression.

My children have grown up with rock and roll parents from the late 60’s/70’s- there is no fear of them not being ‘awake’. They are extremely critical ‘free’ thinkers and I am ever so proud of them. They are highly respectful to all but no one decides for them where or what they do. They love children, and if ever they see injustice to one of them they will go out of their way to set the record straight. My purpose as a mother, I realized early on, was to make sure no one interfered with their natural innocence and innate goodness that all children come in with. That did mean guarding, sensitively, my children’s natural intelligence and sense of social fairness, and speaking up if necessary around the people that were close to us in our lives and that we loved, grandparents, family, dear friends, acquaintances. Thank you for another very important article here- appreciate as always.
