Weather all over the world is becoming rapidly more erratic and destructive. What factors are playing a part in the complex weather/climate equation? How can we know what we are not being told by any “official” source? Who gets to decide what is “real” news, and what is not? What happens when governments know they can no longer hide dire unfolding scenarios from the public? The latest installment of Global Alert News is below.

The totality of converging challenges that we collectively face is daunting. Can we yet make a difference for the better? Waking populations to the wider horizon is imperative, that task will require the effort of all who are awake and aware already. Share credible data from a credible sourcemake your voice heard, make every day count.

Geoengineering Watch wishes to express our most sincere gratitude to Kevin Hansen for the geoengineering awareness sign he has had hanging on his home for almost two years.

Geoengineering Watch wishes to express our most sincere gratitude to Deborah Whitman for placing the ad below in the Spanish "d'primeramano" magazine, July 2019 issue

Am posing a question about drinking water here since keeping ourselves hydrated is so essential, especially with the onslaught of toxins we're dealing with.

Filters, bottled water, filling jugs at the local bulk filtered water tap…
Am wondering what others are doing, especially re fluoride.

I was buying Castle Rock Water in clear glass botttles from Shasta/Dunsmuir but started wondering if the the nano-particles that are found in the snow on Mt. Shasta are making their way down into the springs.  The test report on their website is from 2016 – three years ago, not updated to 2019.

I bought some Fiji water because the source is a clean underground aquifer and the ph was said to be "perfect" for the human body (some may be too alkaline or acidic).  I find it to be most pleasant with no aftertaste.  However, with the danger of microplastics in the water along with the environmental impact of the production of the bottles and the recycling issues, I stopped buying.

I'm trying Mountain Valley.  The water is not as clean a taste from my perspective. I thought the green glass would be protective but now am wondering whether the bottle itself might contain lead or other toxins (I feel more trusting of Castle Rock's clear bottles.)   Am also wondering if their aquifer could be getting contaminated by fracking or other sources.

Cheering us all on in maintaining health as best as we can.

    • Penny Johnson says:

Hi, try Eternal water from Shasta. It is alkaline, but that's okay because we are fighting acids. Rumor has it that nothing foreign in the body can survive an alkaline environment. They do come in plastic transparent blue bottles, but you could always transfer to the large glass water jugs. The aquifer is under the salt caverns.

Endless gratitude and respect to Dane and everyone engaged in this process.  I went up to Gem Faire in San Rafael recently – it is so important and nurturing to have an experience of community during these times as we face the facts and tune into right action.

  4. Black Cat Italy says:

Dane: Report from Central Italy. France and UK are always reported in the media as having high temperatures in the heatwave but there is never any mention of the heat in Italy! The last two weeks have been horrendously hot.  Often, 38C in the shade! We checked the temperature of our paving slabs in the garden with a laser thermometer – 148F today!  No going barefoot.  Anything that is metal heats burns if you touch it.  Temperature (in shade) under our pergola at 1.40 pm today was 105F.  Every day is over 100F and temperature at 10 pm is often still 85F and we don't have the luxury of airconditioning!  It's hell for animals. I am bathing our cats with water and syringing water into their mouths to try to keep them from getting heat stroke.

Last week we saw the damage caused locally by the golf ball sized hail – cars with windows smashed in and bodywork dented like they had been in a firing range.  One person we know has photos of TENNIS BALL sized hail.  One old guy who had grown his usual field of tomatoes was devastated by the damage done and said "he had never in his whole life seen anything like it".  It is futile to try to explain as they often have no comprehension of what geoengineering is.

Our neighbour says that he has been to inspect his olive grove. THERE ARE NO OLIVES at all on his trees in the grove this year. This came about because of the "chemical cooldown" which came just as the flowers were on the trees. So no flowers – no olives.  It takes about three years for the olive trees to recover. This paves the way for the GMO girasole (sunflower oil). Although it is impossible to find out if they grow GMO here. Supermarkets seem to be stockpiling sunflower oil!

I noticed that our Oak trees are going white (I took photos). The leaves are as if white paint has been splashed onto all the leaves. The trees look really sick and are shooting small branches out from the lower area of the trees and at the bottom of the trunk too.  I went for a walk and there are so many dead and dying trees.

This year we had very few lucelli (fireflies).  The stupid railway company destroyed their habitat by dumping hundreds of tons of stone in the area they used to live. It was once like fairyland so far as the eye could see – this year I saw FOUR in the garden because they no longer go to the area that used to be their home where the stone was piled because their habitat has been destroyed.

We laughed the other day to see the British BBC news have an article about "so many ants in the sky they were seen on satellite images" Obviously, the UK is talking to the US after their recent "Ladybugs on satellite that stretched for thousands of miles".  But may be it was some other form of geoengineering they were trying to cover up.  They tell the "sheeple" anything and they believe it.

I have found several huge beetles dead on the paving this week.  I hope the Praying Mantis can survive but I have only seen two this week.  When you open the door from the house all the insects that are out there try to rush in for shelter and shade.  We have seen a few bees on the lavander but now it is dying off there is very little for them to feed on.

What on earth is happening in the US? There is so much terrible cruelty to animals and people seem to be becoming psychopaths.  Animals put into cages and deliberately burned alive. Dogs attacked with a machete and burned. Cats shot with crossbows. Pets put into microwave ovens by juveniles at parties while they film it and put it on social media for a laugh! This is sick beyond belief.  Sex with animals is still legal in several states.  All this and more – the evil of society is incredible and breaks my heart to know the suffering these animals go through.

Last week I posted about a company in the US which is fire-throwing drones that spout fire up to 25ft!.  But my post did not appear.

Today, more insanity. SMART diapers (nappies) for babies so that parents can check their baby using an app on their Smart Phone!!! A large sensor is attached to the diaper (right in position for the reproductive area) and it sends the information to the parent where ever they may be about the baby needing changing or how long it has slept etc.  Marketed to parents so that they can be good parents from day one. What insanity – the baby being constantly exposed to  electromagnetic fields from the sensor and the monitor.  (we all know about plunging sperm count – here is another way to do it).  These diapers are called LUMI (Proctor & Gamble) and apparently there is a waiting list to use them!  To be used from birth.  Apart from the dangers of EMFs what happens to them when they are discarded? Landfill?

Humanity is on fast track for extinction and they are too stupid to see the truth of what is being done to them.

    • Gail ~ Yellowhead County Alberta ~ says:

Very disturbing Black Cat Italy on your temperatures & what the heat is doing to the Olive Trees etc. Insects, I've never seen a Firefly, it must have been wonderful to see so many at once. Another removal of beauty on this planet. Can't have that. The Animals too, suffering so greatly from the excessive heat. I've heard of some of those Animal cruelty reports also. To hell in a handbag we go.  I just heard of those spot fires being started too. How Insane is that? And the baby diapers with chips in them. Well, the new Mothers of today are just to busy to check a diaper, the old fashion way. They need a robot to tell them it's time. How did century's of Women manage? I too wondered why any sane person would want a chip in a diaper next a very delicate area of a Baby!  And there's a demand! Stupidity at it's finest!

    • Janet Denis says:

Black Cat, I can't believe what you're all going through. I'm in central Ca. US. It is 100F here in summer, but we have air conditioner's. The animals you are so good to yours, most people might not think about it? I wish I could send you all an Air conditioners. Anyone that buys diaper's hooked to their smart phones, are pretty stupid, for all of the reason's mentioned. I pray that it cools off soon and that we can all save this planet, before it's too late. Regards

    • Janet L Denis says:

Wow, your story is what  I see so much where I am. I've lived in an area most of my life. I saw the lines first and then things like, that white stuff on the oak trees, I also have. The sun is hotter!  Also, we had a nice Spring at the start and everything is flowering and very delicate and a windy storm comes through and ruin's it!  Happened last year too. That story about the baby potty monitor. People don't think. We better enjoy life while we can. God Bless you all.

"They started off by saying the Pledge of Allegiance. Ten minutes later, they were reading the text of a resolution claiming the existence of “overwhelming evidence” that “pre-planted explosives . . . caused the destruction of the three World Trade Center buildings.”

And so it was, on July 24, 2019 — nearly 18 years after the horrific attacks that traumatized a nation and changed the world forever — the Franklin Square and Munson Fire District, which oversees a volunteer fire department serving a hamlet of 30,000 residents just outside of Queens, New York, became the first legislative body in the country to officially support a new investigation into the events of 9/11.

The resolution, drafted and introduced by Commissioner Christopher Gioia, was unanimously approved by the five commissioners. Members of the audience — including the families of fallen firefighters Thomas J. Hetzel and Robert Evans, both Franklin Square natives — joined in solemn but celebratory applause after the fifth “ay” was spoken."

National Weather News (‘could, maybe, might… ‘) put out the “H” word today (July 30, 2019) for the Atlantic Hurricane Season – they always sneak in a ‘Heads-Up’ – so looks like August on, they’ll be stirring up the Caribbean, Gulf, Southeastern US and so on.  Then they’ll have two games playing: “Western Wildfires and Eastern Hurricanes”. Population entertainment?! People are now avoiding ‘the Weather’ subject, along with politics, religion, etc. We’re a world of ostriches!

  8. Duane Martin says:

Dane – Thanks again for all you efforts to document that in which we are enveloped.  We talked to a young man at Amazon/Whole Foods this week: he was familiar with "geoengineering" and thanked us for directing him to GeoEngineeringWatch. He surprised us by stating that "a lot of young people were aware of geoengineering" and he would point them your way.  We encouraged him to make any and every effort he could to protest what was being "rained down on all of us".

With all the posturing of the "latter day patriots" and "leftover nazis" we recall the voices and thoughts of "authentic patriots" who championed this nation into being  243 years ago.

    1.  Resistance to tyranny becomes the Christian and social duty of each individual… Continue steadfast and, with a proper sense of your dependence on God, nobly defend those rights which heaven gave, and no man ought to take from us.

    2.  Some boast of being friends to government; I am a friend to righteous government, to a government founded upon the principles of reason and justice; but I glory in publicly avowing my eternal enmity to tyranny.

    3.  The more people who own little businesses of their own, the safer our country will be, and the better off its cities and towns; for the people who have a stake in their country and their community are its best citizens.

    2.  “However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.”

Excerpted from: Space Lunacy: $ Trillion Space Games and False Prophecies by Billionaires While Rome Burns – Global Research

"According to Oxfam eight billionaires now own as much wealth as half the human race. In an ethics-free age false prophecies of planetary colonization—of the rich, by the rich, for the rich— can only be described as a diversion from the need to save life on Earth. The parallels between religious beliefs of heaven and hell are evident, the virtuous (i.e. the super-rich) will be salvaged, whereas the other (poor and/or colored skin) will burn in hell, as Earth is warming.

    One cannot argue with insanity."

  13. 'a' simple horseman says:

Dane and ALL, Wow, this weeks broadcast has impacted me greatly. So many points that hit home, literally. One of many points that struck me was the diminishing size of wild life. I've seen it!! Thank you Dane for pointing out that I am not seeing things. Mule deer and White tail deer are both considerably smaller than they were only 10 years ago. I have 2 kinds of squirrels and both are smaller than only 5 years ago. With Chipmunks it's hard to tell. Where's the morning dew that once hydrated many of our forest dwellers. With as dry as it is these last few years, it amazes me that some are surviving. I always make sure to roll that in when in a conversation about "what's missing". It's an eye opening topic if you play it right. Here's a small list of what is missing from just last year "in my region". Yellow Jacket bees, Horse Flies, once beautiful Lupen flowers, wild Lilly's, buds on pines and furs, stink bugs, not a one this year. I used to have to empty my boots each morning. They used to get into places that you thought were bug proof, like my cabin interior, "Gone!". I also bring up the topic of what's "different" these days. Other than the exponentially increasing die off, the 'dust' here has taken on a "static cling" property. I am forever rinsing my hands after being outside. It's quite dry out there but never has dirt clung to my skin like now this summer. The clinging properties of dirt dust seem to increase with each "so called rain fall". I've been lucky(tongue in cheek) to get a bit more than dots in the dust 5 only times now since the snows went away. Each time it rained, something flashed out dead. Shouldn't it have been the opposite? My acreage is a fire waiting to happen. Forest floor growth this spring and summer has been remarkable. Everything grew 'tall'. Not dense. Now it's dry as an old bone and if it caught fire you'd need some serious water to put it out. I noticed recently that my region has been sectioned off into separate fire suppression areas. They even posted the signs along the roads of the boundaries. I hope that August wild fires in the northwest don't become a weapon of mass distraction. If they do come, stay tuned, I'm not going anywhere. I have a plan. A good plan. I think it's human nature to know when you're getting set up. The trick is in knowing what you're getting set up 'for'. "Break on through to the other side".

'Unprecedented, Wasteful, and Obscene': House Approves $1.48 Trillion Pentagon Budget

"Wanna know how broken and captured Washington is by the Pentagon and the corruption of our nation's 'defense' budget? Well, look no further than the soon to be enacted budget 'deal.'"

By Jake Johnson / July 27, 2019 "Information Clearing House"
In a bipartisan deal that one anti-war critic said demonstrates how thoroughly "broken and captured Washington is by the Pentagon," 219 House Democrats and 65 Republicans on Thursday voted to approve a budget agreement that includes $1.48 trillion in military spending over the next two years.
Just 16 Democrats—including Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.)—voted against the two-year, $2.7 trillion budget agreement. Largely due to expressed concerns about the deficit, 132 Republicans and Rep. Justin Amash (I-Mich.) also voted no.
The final vote was 284-149. (See the full roll call.)
The House passage of the budget deal, which President Donald Trump quickly applauded on Twitter as a victory for the military, comes after the Congressional Progressive Caucus threatened in April to tank the measure in opposition to its out-of-control Pentagon outlays.

"The Great Hack" The Most Important Documentary Of Our Time?
By Kayleigh Dray  / July 26, 2019 "Information Clearing House" –

We are all, to some degree, aware of the shadowy connections between Cambridge Analytica (CA), the US election and Brexit. And we all know that CA did ‘something bad’ with our data. However, unless you have a degree in tech, it can be hard to understand why so many people believe that social media – specifically Facebook – is manipulating our opinions, our lives, and our society. Thankfully, Netflix’s The Great Hack is here to help us understand how “the dream of a connected world” tore us apart.
The documentary – directed by Karim Amer and Jehane Noujaim – focuses on three principal characters. There’s British journalist Carole Cadwalladr, who famously exposed CA’s ties to the Trump and Brexit campaigns (and has been the target of much online harassment ever since). There’s New York professor and privacy campaigner David Carroll, who attempts to recover his stolen data from CA.
And then there’s former CA employee Brittany Kaiser, whose explosive testimony helped Cadwalladr to uncover the truth – and whose blurred role as victim/villain of the piece easily makes her one of The Great Hack’s most compelling characters.

Short of revolution there's no stopping the daily distribution of aluminum and other crap. Burns my nose, eyes, throat and yet keep on consuming is the one option available. If we all refused to pay our taxes that might get their attention, however most people would freak out at the proposal of disobedience. Looks like the bad guys win, hope they can eat their empire. Dane is very good at telling it as it is, but who is listening? Fighting the biggest and strongest and most corrupt excuse for a government. I just want to see some blue sky again. What a nightmare. It is nice to see it all in composed passages. Love and strength to you my old friend I have not met, yet..

  19. Mike UK says:

Dane, in my earlier email, I forgot to add that here in the UK, as you probably know, we have a new Prime Minister, Boris Johnson. The ebullient Mr Johnson is now on a crusade around the country blithely promising a bright new, prosperous future once we leave the European Union! He’s promising to spend billions of pounds on various projects – money that doesn’t actually exist of course – all to do, as well, with his other stated aim of imbuing the nation with renewed confidence and optimism… It would be funny if it wasn’t so seriously irresponsible. Economic growth and prosperity on a dying planet!  The theater of the absurd?  I’m sure that’s what you would say.

  20. Mike UK says:

Dane, thanks for your latest update, and your ongoing courageous work to wake up the sleeping masses.

Here in the UK we did indeed experience our highest ever daytime temperature – 38.7C/101.6F, and the night-time temperature must have been at near record level.

On that day of peak temperature, Thursday July 25, I ventured out into my garden just to experience this unwanted record event. Apart from the oven-like heat…there was nothing – just an eerie silence! There were no birds to be seen or heard, no insects either, and no audible human activity. It was as though every living thing had gone into hibernation – to escape the oppressive heat. It was truly uncanny, and something I’ve never experienced before. Maybe a taste of things to come?

With regard to the wildfires in the Arctic regions, the BBC have reported on this, highlighting, surprisingly, the extreme danger they represent to the environment. Link below.

  22. Andrew from scotland says:

My 280th email, titled 'Climate Chaos within 18 months. Arctic albedo / Nae pockets…

When will they lob 200 nukes down volcano cones to initiate the 2 year nuclear volcanic winter to refreeze the Arctic (and Antarctic)? This has nothing to do with a nuclear war, although that could be used as a distraction.

The ongoing intensive, toxic (and therefore extremely profitable for those companies whose business model relies on disease and ill health) geoengineering and atmospheric spraying has delayed the nuclear option by over 6 years. However, because it is a covert operation, the general public has carried on with 'business as usual' and nothing has been achieved to prevent climate catastrophe and our extinction.

I recorded 58C in the sun at my home (in Scotland) on thursday…and it looks like the current heat wave over Europe is heading north to the Arctic, which has had lowest-ever-for-date sea ice volume since June 27th.

No surprise therefore that the Arctic currently has the highest albedo warming potential ever.

When we lose the remaining Arctic sea ice and its ability to reflect incoming solar energy back to space, it will be equivalent to adding one trillion tons of CO2 to the atmosphere, on top of the 2.4 trillion tons emitted since the Industrial Age.

At current rates, this roughly equates to 25 years of global CO2 emissions. The effect however, will be felt in 4 to 5 weeks of an Arctic without sea ice.

There are still about 6 weeks of the annual melt season for the Arctic.

Do I need to say any more? Well, maybe: "There's nae pockets in a shroud."

Looks like Europe/UK are scheduled for 3 more heat waves before mid Sept.

So sorry Geoff, for those saplings…you can wrap the small trunks with brown paper bag and tie at the bottom near the ground and at the top where the trunk branches out. Now is a bad time to plant them spring or fall is best. Make sure to thoroughly water the hole. If you use packaged soil, particularly with peat or coconut coir, soak in warm water overnight. Drying roots is the worst suspect. I am also a mama hen and I like to cover new plants or put things near them to provide dappled shade. I am also guilty of going to the thrift store and buying lace table cloths to make curtains/tents with 4-6 ft. stakes to. Nice for elegant parties/outside rooms. I had to have half of a tree removed and now it is sunny and hot on my porch. Underneath was a peachtree seedling and I put boughs of the tree that curve over the 10" tree and I put some small branches with dried leaves (avocado) so it is like shade for it. and it will come out once it acclimates. It is doing ok right now.

Tad, I too say "bring it on". Though, myself, I have no wish for mankind to perish "entirely". I intend to survive what ever comes my way when Mother Nature can't be held back anymore. I've planned for it. We are facing some extremely hard times in our collectively very near future. "The writing is on the wall". Myself, I hope mankind does not extinguish itself entirely. If some of us survive, that will mean there is still a world that is alive. God help us for what we may mutate into after any given holocaust, but just to know that our beautiful round ball is still giving life will be good enough, for me. I guess ultimately what I'm trying to say is "be careful what you wish for". It matters……

  25. Addressing the Climate Crisis, Worldwide Reforestation and Industrial Hemp  Published July 27, 2019

"Planting billions of trees across the world is by far the cheapest and most efficient way to tackle the climate crisis. So states a July 4 article in The Guardian, citing a new analysis published in the journal Science. The author explains:"  [As in Duh, duh, duh…]

Please read the entire article, then ask yourselves: Erm… How long does it take for a tree (or hemp) to mature enough to become an effective carbon sink?  How much time do we have???

Wouldn't eliminating the militarization of the entire planet be a more efficient carbon sink?  Uh… No one wants to talk about totally axing our deranged military idiots, because they have a gun or a bomb pointed at everyone… Nice work if you can get it…

The only  '" possible "bright spot in this dreadful scenario may be the  fact that  { if a "ground " war is started  by  our Elites before the complete " geo engineered " Planetary meltdown } when the US Govt.  does put  American boots on the ground in either Iran or Russia or elsewhere ; those    Foreign  troops  will wipe the floor with our soft, stupid and inadequate soldiers that were fielded by the psychopaths in power.  It must be remembered that the  " reserve currency status " of the US Dollar for the past many decades has enabled The US  people to have a free ride by using fake money to purchase things that  all other countries and their people had to actually work for.  Today's American youth are soft and spoiled { 70% unfit for military service } and stand no chance if put up against the tough, hard working people who  did not have the luxury of  " simply ; "Printing "currency to get things.  Thank the  fake US Dollar as well as Fractional Reserve Banking for the situation we are in. The Pentagon is desperate and wants to employ 'child soldiers'.  Around the world the use of child soldiers is an abomination and cruel corruption.  So, is age 16 okay to fight the Empire's Wars? Apparently, their video gaming abilities are in demand, if not their lack of criminal records.

A jobs program for high school dropouts?

It's a cliche, but what can possibly go wrong?

Maybe the military very much likes the idea that teenaged brain development is immature, making teens extremely impulsive and highly receptive to peer pressures.

It is always stunning to wonder why squeaky clean legal records are sought by military recruitment, when the mission is to make professional murderers out of soldiers.

The science & technology used in climate engineering the planet are also utilized in EW, Electronic Warfare. I happen to live in an EW Zone designated to test the military (Boeing EA-18G Growler EW airplanes) in the sky ionized with toxic metal nano-particles and the various effects of a spectrum of intense radiation that are necessary for cloaking, stealth, chaff, AN/ALQ-218 detection pods, communications, targeting, etc. — all of which are considered secret within the legal phrase national defense. We really have no idea how far this has already progressed, but the related business deals can give some clues. Both Microsoft and Apple each are investing a BILLION dollars. I’m sure that like me, those who read here are horrified at the idea of AI having “the potential to shape the trajectory of humanity.” God help us!

Microsoft Invests $1 Billion In Musk's OpenAI, Will Become Exclusive Cloud Provider  / Zero Hedge

… In exchange, Microsoft will become OpenAI's exclusive cloud provider, according to CNBC.
According to the company, artificial general intelligence (AGI) will be able to solve more complex problems than standard AI systems, and seeks to create a 'long-term positive impact' on humanity. Of note, Musk has characterized AI as the "biggest existential threat" to humanity.

"Modern AI systems work well for the specific problem on which they've been trained, but getting AI systems to help address some of the hardest problems facing the world today will require generalization and deep mastery of multiple AI technologies," the companies wrote in a joint press release. "OpenAI and Microsoft's vision is for artificial general intelligence to work with people to help solve currently intractable multidisciplinary problems, including global challenges such as climate change, more personalized healthcare and education."   …

Bloomberg:  Apple Inc. is buying Intel Corp.’s struggling cellular modem unit, bringing on key engineering talent and patents that will allow the technology giant to more quickly develop crucial components to connect its devices to the mobile internet.

The deal is valued at $1 billion, Intel and Apple said in joint announcement. …  Apple has been using Intel modems exclusively in iPhones since last year. But after having settled its long-standing royalties lawsuit with Qualcomm Inc. in April, it will go back to using that company’s 5G cellular modems for future versions of products like the iPhone.
Qualcomm was the first to offer such technology at a mass scale and was on track to have its second-generation chip in the market before Intel released its first. …
… The deal is scheduled to close in the fourth quarter. Intel said that Goldman Sachs served as its financial adviser.
… Apple has been ramping up hiring from Intel and Qualcomm to work on 5G modems.
The settlement with Qualcomm helps Apple in part to be able to bring a 5G iPhone to market next year after Intel missed deadlines and featured inferior performance, according to people familiar with the series of events.

VSF:  The CIA is currently “seeking legislation that will expand government ability to declare it a crime to reveal the identities of undercover intelligence agents will inevitably lead to major abuse…” The CIA is said by many to have become the World Drug Cartel. We know about Zapata Oil, the Clintons in Mena AK, Air America in the Viet Nam era, and the poppy fields in Afghanistan — which are likely the source of the Big Pharma opioid crisis. No wonder our country continues its descent into depraved corruption. For those who are fearless, I highly recommend this heart-breaking well-researched book that will open eyes:
The CIA as Organized Crime: How Illegal Operations Corrupt America and the World / January 15, 2017 / by Douglas Valentine
… investigations into CIA engagement in terrorism, drugs, and propaganda. … began when CIA Director William Colby gave him free access to interview CIA officials who had been involved in various aspects of the Phoenix program in South Vietnam.  It was a permission Colby was to regret. The CIA would rescind it, making every effort to impede publication of The Phoenix Program, which documented the CIA’s elaborate system of population surveillance, control, entrapment, imprisonment, torture and assassination in Vietnam.
While researching Phoenix, Valentine learned that the CIA allowed opium and heroin to flow from its secret bases in Laos, to generals and politicians on its payroll in South Vietnam.

No Accountability in Washington. The CIA Wants to Hide All Its Employees — Strategic Culture
    Philip Giraldi / July 25, 2019

Government that actually serves the interests of the people who are governed has two essential characteristics: first, it must be transparent in terms of how it debates and develops policies and second, it has to be accountable when it fails in its mandate and ceases to be responsive to the needs of the electorate.
Over the past twenty years one might reasonably argue that Washington has become less a “of the people, by the people and for the people” and increasingly a model of how special interests can use money to corrupt government.
The recent story about how serial pedophile Jeffrey Epstein avoided any serious punishment by virtue of his wealth and his political connections, including to both ex-president Bill Clinton and to current chief executive Donald Trump, demonstrates how even the most despicable criminals can avoid being brought to justice.
This erosion of what one might describe as republican virtue has been exacerbated by a simultaneous weakening of the US Constitution’s Bill of Rights, which was intended to serve as a guarantee of individual liberties while also serving as a bulwark against government overreach. …
… governmental lack of transparency and accountability is a more serious matter when the government itself becomes a serial manipulator of the truth as it seeks to protect itself from criticism.

Reports that the Central Intelligence Agency (C.I.A.) is seeking legislation that will expand government ability to declare it a crime to reveal the identities of undercover intelligence agents will inevitably lead to major abuse when some clever bureaucrat realizes that the new rule can also be used to hide people and cover up malfeasance.
The new legislation is an intelligence agency dream, a get out of jail card that has no expiry date.

Weather is upside down and a killing thing for wildlife . . .

No-one cares: It's what's the match (football)? What's the news on the 'Royals', what's the latest celebrity scandal . . .

We try to grow as many splings as we can – mainly birch and rowan for this area – yet they die from wind-sear and U.V. scorch . . .

When you see U.V. scorch on the very feathers of sparrows it brings you to despair – when a vet diagnoses unaccountable 'neurological' damage to pigeons and passerines and I answer with ' 'microwaves''  she stares at me in disbelief until I show her a read-out of the fields even present at her place of work . . .

How, how can we stop this?

How do you think they have retained so much power? They make the laws, they pass the budgets, and of course they are first going to setup job security and income, plausible denial, and incorporate so no one is responsible for anything so they can dispurse our funds between one another without our consent and took away the " abolish an out of control government act" which gave we the people a remedy for resource. Now we still are stuck in even worse boat that's sinking because we trusted the Titanic and we pay them to do it! Oxymoron!! If we didn't pay them anymore, what could they do? Panic, they are already doing that.in all actuality there are only a few federated states that do all this. The rest of America is ignored, other than collecting cash from us to pay for their pet projects like geoengineering. I know a whole lotta people who live outside who could use that money for a house. I wouldn't donate to any non-profit that claims to help the environment, homeless animals, and people, the money just disappears. No accounting, just applications for grants from government that does nothing for people and destroys the land, air, and sea.
