   Max Alonzo, a former Forest Service firefighter who now works as national secretary treasurer for the National Federation of Federal Employees, similarly believes the administration is setting the agency up to fail. He noted the president has also proposed deep cuts that would slash the USFS operations budget by 44% and eliminate funding for forest and rangeland research to refocus the agency’s mission primarily on timber sales.

   “They’re putting the chess pieces in place to get rid of our national forests,” he said. He believes the goal is to open the door to more mineral extraction, logging and drilling.

   “It’s all about breaking the government so people decide the government doesn’t work,” echoed Hugh Safford, a UC Davis researcher who worked for the Forest Service for over two decades.

   Safford is concerned that the move to shutter dozens of research stations will prevent Forest Service scientists from doing on-the-ground work on issues affecting local lands, like seeing how different ecosystems respond to wildfire, pests and drought. This research has driven some of the most important global advancements in fire planning and forest management, he said. He would know: Until 2021, he managed a staff of ecologists that provided science support to Forest Service leadership.

   “They are destroying the research part of the agency,” he said. “These plans are so draconian and so depressing my hair stands up when I even read about them.”

3. A 21-year-old emu named Adam died after suffering head trauma from softball sized hail. This occurred last week at a Missouri zoo in Springfield during a “historic” storm. Zoo officials say that Adam’s death can be blamed on an emu’s instinct to lie down and take cover. I guess so, I mean I’m no emu expert. However, how about issuing some blame for the softball sized hail? How about zoo officials insisting on no more toxic spraying of the skies over Springfield?

   I’m impressed with your perseverance in continuing to alert others through this website and your YouTube channel. I have been watching your websites and reading the comments on your videos for over twelve years. I have also sent many comments to this website myself.

   Our weather in the Western NC and Western GA areas have gone from the 80s to the 70s and this morning in the 30s. I still hand out business cards and point out the many lines and complete whiteout of our sky to others. I have handed out your flyers, pamphlets and even DVDs through the years “to no avail” . . . However, a few days ago, a young man that was putting out produce, actually mentioned how he saw the planes flying above even at night. It was so refreshing to actually speak with an “Alert” person.

   There are days when I just say “Why bother telling anyone” as it is just a waste of time. But then I spoke with neighbors that live a few houses down the road last night and pointed it out, and they were also very upset how the weather changed so drastically.

   They said: “What can we do about it?” And of course, I told them what we have been doing and they said that many just DO NOT CARE.

   I still hand out cards and also put them in local shops and restaurants. But I must say . . . It is exhausting because it seems more planes have been spraying. In fact, they sprayed early and then sprayed over the spray again, as you could see the stripes above the white haze. The entire sky went from “Light Blue” to completely WHITE. I say “Light Blue” because we do NOT have the deep blue sky that we had once before.

   Also, I ask myself “Why are they spraying after 11 pm at night and all through the morning hours after midnight, when the sun is NOT out that they are trying to block!” Grrrrr

   So as you can see Dane, I really feel anxiety and I get infuriated at the fact that we cannot do anything, as humans, to stop this. And to learn that they are also trying to cool down their data centers and bitcoin centers by keeping it cooler, is another topic for a different day.
